Objective: to establish the rat model of coal workers pneumoconiosis, and to explore its influence on cognitive function. Methods: the weight of 180 ~ 200g in 100 healthy male Wistar rats, were randomly divided into control group and pneumoconiosis group. Pneumoconiosis group via trachea poured into the dust saline suspensions of 1ml, poured into the 1ml saline control group. Respectively, 8 weeks and 20 weeks were the Morris water maze test the ability of learning and memory, after taking abdominal aortic blood for blood gas analysis, lung, brain tissue stained with HE morphological changes were observed, and lung tissue in VG staining was observed in the degree of fibrosis. Results: blood gas analysis found, pneumoconiosis group of rats with exposed for extended periods of time, PaO2 decreased, PaCO2 increased gradually; pulmonary fibrosis index with disease progression gradually increased; pneumoconiosis group rat escape latent period than in the control group ( F = 51.879, P < 0.05 ), 20 weeks in rats escape latency is 8 week group was significantly prolonged ( F = 14.603, P < 0.05 ); pneumoconiosis rats through the platform and the number of spans the target quadrant time accounts for the swimming time of rats was significantly reduced compared with the control group ( F = 30.301, P < 0.05; F = 28.363, P < 0.05 ). Conclusion: the coal workers' pneumoconiosis pulmonary function in rats with chronic hypoxia caused by reduction, can lead to nerve tissue damage and cognitive dysfunction.
