One day I was at my aunt's house.She has a baby girl who is nearly one year old.She just woke up at noon and my aunt tried to feed her with milk.But she cried continuously,and refused to be fed.My aunt passed her a toy but she rejected it.We did not know why she behaved the way she did.We tried to pacify her with grimace but were unsuccessful.However,she stopped crying as soon as I passed her the milk bottle,and started drinking by holding the bottle herself.I suddenly felt that the baby was very cute.Although she could not yet express herself by words,she had her own thinking or thoughts.She knew what she wanted and expressed it by her cries.That's why,I felt,it is vital that,when dealing with toddlers,we need to think like them so that we understand their thinking,what they like or (what) they want to do.Patience and guidance are the most important factors in caring for them.Encouragement is certainly also useful.
