It is commonly believed that English language should be taught by the people who are native speakers.Surely enough,foreign teachers can offer students the language atmosphere which most of the Chinese students are lack of.But,personally speaking,I have some different ideas as follows:
First of all,in the childhood at the age between 2 to 6,children should watch and listen to some English cartoons which are the great attractions to little kids.For this period, interest is the most important to be developed.
Secondly,when the teenagers are at school,their English should be lectured by Chinese teachers who can speak fluent English.Only because,only the Chinese teachers can understand the students;learning habits,way of thinking and the basic rules of the English language which should be explained in Chinese.
Thirdly,in high school,with the positive English grammar,students should be strictly trained in reading,writing,speaking and writing.This step of study should be controlled by foreign teachers,for they know more about the background of the English language.
Finally,I have to say that an English course should be divided into different parts which are suitable to different ages.That will be much more effective for the students in their study.
