Jia Pingwa's novel "the deserted city" for us to construct an aesthetic world,this world is full of ideal and reality of intense friction,as we describe such a period of social transformation in urban,demonstrates the ancient cultural spirit in modern life transformation and depression as well as contemporary intellectuals inner depression and hesitation." Image" is the important category of Chinese traditional aesthetics theory.It is the intrinsic abstract mind,like external specific object.It comes from within and through the image to express,as is actually intended to place.In the novel" the deserted city",Jia Pingwa created the rich images,these images constitute a unified organic whole,became a rich connotation of the image world.This paper focuses on the images in the novel,the natural image cultural image,image image as a perspective,and discuss its implication of artistic value.
