The Two Travelers
There were two travelers walking along a road in the wood years ago. They found a beautiful axe on the ground. One of them picked it up and said, “Look here, I have found an axe.”
“Let's just say WE have found the axe,” said the other one,“We are friends, so we ought to share it between us.”
“No,” said the first one, “I found the axe, so it is mine.”
Soon after they heard someone running behind them calling out, “Stop, thieves! Stop, thieves !”They looked back and the first traveler said, “What shall we do? He is running after us. We would be caught by him.” “Well, let's say you would be caught cause it is you who found the axe and claimed it your own property.” The other one left him alone.
The first traveler tried to hide the axe, but he did not know where to hide it. At last
he was caught by the owner of the axe.
