Schiff bases containing subsets of nitrogen base refers to a class of compounds, it was first discovered in 1864by H.Schiff. Schiff soda by amine and active carbonyl compound condensation, which is characterized by the ability to flexibly select a reactant thereby changing the substituents donor atoms nature and position; its ligand and its complexes are widely used in chemical, biological, medical and material science research and application. This paper introduces the design of quinoline containing structural unit of the new Schiff base compounds, and the use of traditional synthetic method using 2- methyl - 8- hydroxyl quinoline synthesis of 2 -8 hydroxy quinoline formyl - shrinkage of benzoyl hydrazine Schiff base, and by chemical and physical means undertook to its characterization, and cultivate their heavy metal salt complexes. The synthesis method is divided into four steps: first, from 2 - methyl - 8- hydroxyl quinoline and acetic anhydride, generation 2 - methyl - 8 - acetyl oxy quinoline; then, using two selenium oxide2- methyl - 8 - acetyl oxy quinoline oxidized for 2- formyl - 8 - acetyl oxy quinoline; followed by potassium hydroxide solution2- formyl - 8 - acetyl oxy quinoline into2 - formyl - 8- hydroxyl quinoline; finally,2 - formyl - 8- hydroxyl quinoline and benzoyl hydrazine reacts to Schiff base. Finally detected by infrared spectroscopy demonstrated synthesized product and target compounds consistent.
