  • Weather Summary

Weather Underground Forecast for Friday, July 27, 2007. Much of eastern Asia will be under a transitioning weather pattern Friday as no major weather systems will affect the region.

Instead, a broad trough of low pressure will rotate through the northern Sea of Japan. Within the trough, a smaller low pressure system will rotate out of northern China and into the Sea of Japan. This system will bring considerable rain to southern Russia and eventually to Hokkaido in the afternoon and evening.

Another small low pressure system will move across the Yellow Sea and towards the Korean Peninsula. This system will bring mainly light rain showers from Beijing through North Korea.

Elsewhere, weak moist flow in southeast China will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms through the region.

A high pressure system will bring dry conditions to South Korea and southern Japan.

Tokyo will rise into the lower 80s(F)/upper 20s(C), while Shanghai will see temperatures in the mid-90s(F)/mid-30s(C). Seoul will rise into the upper 80s(F)/lower 30s(C).

For Australia, a pair of low pressure systems will affect the country. One of these lows will move across Tasmania and the Bass Strait. Precipitation associated with this low will fall through Tasmania, Victoria, and southern New South Wales. Strong winds are also expected from this system.

The second low pressure system will be considerably stronger as it approaches the coast of Western Australia. This system will carry considerable moisture, and thus heavy rain is likely to fall from Shark Bay through Cape Leeuwin. Precipitation from this system will gradually move eastward as the day progresses.

Sydney will rise into the mid-60s(F)/upper 10s(C), while Melbourne will see temperatures in the upper 50s(F)/mid-10s(C). Brisbane will rise into the lower 70s(F)/lower 20s(C).
